Connecticut River Estuary Regional Planning Agency

Mission Statement: Adopted July 10, 1995

The Connecticut River Estuary Regional Planning Agency is dedicated to planning for and promoting voluntary cooperative approaches to changing land use and other issues affecting the character and people of the Connecticut River Estuary Region.


CRERPA serves the Connecticut River Estuary Region by –

• Examining needs, resources and alternative solutions to regional problems;
• Recommending specific plans and programs designed to cope with regional problems;
• Providing technical assistance to local governmental and private agencies and organizations;
• Reviewing certain planning and zoning proposals having intertown significance;
• Serving as a common meeting ground and catalyst of intertown cooperation;
• Providing a forum for discovery and discussion of problems affecting the region;
• Working with State, Federal and Local governments to develop regional goals, policies and plans affecting the Region’s future;
• Serving as a depository of information for the use of its membership and the general public.
